Ammonia removal from persulfate wastewater

The ammonia nitrogen content of wastewater from ammonium persulfate production is more than 10 000 mg/L, which needs to be treated to 10 mg/L and discharged directly. The water quality is single, the ammonia nitrogen content is high, it is not suitable for biochemical treatment, and the owner has a high demand for energy consumption, and it is not suitable for blowing tower and ammonia distillation tower and other processes.
Project introduction
The company mainly produces persulfate, which can be used as initiator of polymerization, desizing agent of fiber industry, surface treatment agent of metal and semiconductor materials and etchant of printed circuit. Because the water contains persulfate and is oxidized, the general ammonia removal membrane can not run steadily. After the preliminary pilot test, the products and technology of DTEC which have been approved by the owners, and finally adopted the solution of our company.

Operation status
The project started operation in early 2017, during which there was a risk of membrane infiltration caused by organic matter on the acid side. DTEC's preventive mechanism played a role to avoid catastrophic flooding accidents in time and provided an alarm for production adjustment. After the owner finds out the reason, the project runs smoothly, the water production reaches the design target, the membrane performance is stable, the byproduct ammonium salt is pure, and it is sold as a resource takeout.
